Adjusting the answer key of a combined question (combination closed and open)

On the page Answer key: Editing the closed question answer key , you have read how to change the answer key of a closed question after the test. This page builds on that page. Adjusting the answer key of a combined question (closed in combination with open) is described in the following steps.

The explanation assumes that you:

  • Want to adjust the answer key of the closed question in combination with the combined question
  • Or that you want to adjust the number of points to be obtained (not assessment criteria) for the open question. Be aware! Do this before you check the questions, otherwise you will have to go through the correction round again.
  • This explanation applies to the options within the option ‘Adjust answer model: by adjusting the correct/incorrect answers.’
  • If you want to adjust the answer key (assessment criteria) for the open question, read ‘Editing grading criteria of open questions after the exam performance’ .
  • Step 1

Adjusting the answer key of a closed question in the combined question

    • Log in to Remindo, find the student’s test and go to the page to adjust the answer key. (See also: steps 1 to 3 on ‘Answer key: Editing the closed questions answer key’).
    • Choose whether you want to adjust the answer key for one or more students (1 in the screenshot). Note! The option ‘Edit result for all candidates in the same test moment’ is not shown in this screen shot.
    • Choose ‘By adjusting the correct/incorrect answers’ (2)
    • Choose the ‘Status’ (3)
    • In the interaction for which you want to adjust the answer key (green box is the closed question), you indicate the adjustment. For example, add an extra answer (4 and 5). At (4) you can also add new options of given answers (in this blueprint). This applies to Text entry questions. Click the button ‘Add new options from list of given answers’, select the new answer option (you can change the points at top of the popup already) and click ‘Add’.

Indicate that you do not want to reopen the correction round (6). This prevents you from having to adjust the answer key of the open question.

  • Step 2

    • Click on ‘View changes’ (7). You can see the effect of the adjustment on the grades (8).
    • Give a motivation and save (9).

  • Step 3

Adjusting the number of points to be obtained for the open question in the composite question

    • Go through the numbers 1 to 3 from the first screenshot on this page.
    • In this step, however, we make an adjustment to the open question. See fields under the red box ‘Change the answer key for interaction 2’ in the screenshot below.
    • Change the number of points (1, in the screenshot below)
    • Choose ‘No’ at the option ‘Reopen correction rounds’, if you haven’t checked anything yet (2)
    • Click on ‘View changes’ (3). You see no effect of the adjustment on the grades (4), because the open questions have not yet been checked.
    • Give a motivation (5) and save (6).

    Start checking if you want.
